ABOUT ME...

Hi I'm Stephany!

Growing up I was always the active kid. I played every sport imaginable and ultimately fell in love with tennis. I would leave the all girls school I went to and immediately bus to my tennis camp every day. I even said no to hanging out with friends (in elementary school) to play tennis because I was so committed.

While most of my friends considered me as the sporty or "fit" friend, this unfortunately didn't translate into how I felt about my body. Going to an all girl's school had it's perks, but unfortunately this is where my terrible relationship with my body & food began.

I was surrounded by unhealthy eating habits & negative self talk, so I began to think that was the norm. If other girls thought they looked bad... what did that mean about me?

Fast forward a few years to university - I wasn't playing tennis anymore and was beginning to gain some weight. I still didn't have my relationship with food or my body under my belt, but I thought if I started strength training it would fix it. I bought different cookie cutter programs, and used my minimal knowledge to get by. While going to the gym somewhat improved my mental attitude, it was really the only thing I felt that I could control. I began spiralling and became so controlling with my health that it was actually unhealthy.

I constantly looked in the mirror and hated what I saw. I restricted calories intensely, and would stress about going to social settings if I meant I would be in a situation with food that wasn't good for me. The constant restriction in the day led to binge eating at night, and I felt like I had to "earn" my food. If I ate a lot the night before, I punished myself in the gym the next day.

About 2 years ago is when everything changed. I learned how to stop viewing exercises as punishment, how to fuel my body in the right way, and created an amazing relationship with myself.

I educated myself on nutrition, exercise, mindset & habits. I realized that I didn't have to WAIT to get the body that I wanted to LOVE my body. I gained so much confidence in myself through the process that I actually began to excel in my career as well. I got 3 promotions in 3 years at my corporate job and was one of the youngest managers to be responsible for about 20 people in the company.

I began teaching group fitness classes with 20-30+ groups, and after seeing the impact I could have on others, I set on a mission to help every other women who has struggled in some way to gain back control of their health & love their bodies again!

She's Better Than Ever was born to help every woman be better than ever!
